Hello everyone and welcome to the new Dressage Ireland Youth Club (DIY) website!
This site has been set up to help the youth of Ireland to improve their Dressage & flatwork. This is a club for you, the members & should be run by you & driven by your desires! For this we need your input, and we need volunteers & enthusiastic supporters! This is your chance to pursue your dressage dreams with the help of Dressage Ireland, and a chance for you to be involved in putting Ireland on the Dressage map!
Look forward to seeing you all & best of luck!

Purpose
The aims of this club are to raise the standard of Dressage in Ireland, and to put forward teams to successfully compete abroad, both at friendly internationals & ultimately at European level!
What's in it for you?
- This website has been set up to help give you the on-going information & help you need by being a focal point for sharing ideas & knowledge. It will also serve to provide as many details as possible regarding competitions & training days, etc.
- Team clothing - we are currently planning to bring in a range of team clothing for everyone, including T-shirts, hoodies, waistcoats, etc. This will be available to all DIY members.
- Training & education - see the training page for full details on all our training plans.
- More U25's competitions - we are hoping to arrange more U25's competitions at regional shows to help especially those of you beginning on the Dressage ladder.
Plan for the next few months
This club is in its opening days, so we can't promise an exact timescale when these plans will be implemented, however we will do our best to get the following off the ground in the next month or two;
- Training - keep an eye on the training page for information regarding upcoming training days & events.
- Training Camps - hopefully we will be able to arrange a few training camps, with groups of various levels with an appropriate trainer, to prepare teams for competitions.
- Team Clothing - as mentioned earlier, we are currently working on developing a selection of team clothing (see logo competition for your input to its design)
- U25's classes & leagues - we are trying to introduce more U25's specific classes at our regional shows, and with these, junior leagues.
- Lecture - A lecture (on something such as horse nutrition) will hopefully be planned for January or February.
- Mentors - we are planning to put in place a mentor scheme to help our newer members to get the help they need, by having someone already familiar with their level on hand to answer questions & provide support.
- Support group - currently a number of people are planning a trip abroad to the CDI in Addington in April and we would like to bring a few members along to soak up the atmosphere & get a feel for it.
What we really need from you now is your support for these events so they will really work and encourage further ones into the future! - Becoming a member: This club is currently free to join for everyone, just send your details to Bill & Sorrell, and keep checking the website and your e-mail for any updates on training, etc. which you may be eligible for.
